Our executive business coach Allison Meekins is interview by Lennart Sloof – Manager Digital Marketing Strategies at Accenture Netherlands – about her experience while helping leaders and senior executives to trigger the change of mindset and the behavior change. They spent some time together to exchange perspectives about their experiences working together. Lennart is the visionaire of some Accenture programs that Tricycle Europe is running. Allison is having the role of executing such digital marketing and sales transformation programs with leadership teams. In this piece of the dialogue, Allison and Lennart discuss about how coaching help leaders / senior executives in sales & marketing in their digital transformation journey.


Lennart: During my time at Accenture, I’ve trained over 900 people myself on personal branding using LinkedIn and what I found out was that I notice that LinkedIn, in particular, is not in our DNA. Which came as a huge surprise to me because we are a tech company that advises our clients in the process of digital transformation, whilst digital transformation also really revolutionizes the way our clients and our future clients engage with us, how did you experience that during your coaching sessions?

Allison: Yes! it’s been also an interesting observation from me as well and it’s not just Accenture, it is all of the programs which myself and my peers also are involved in. We really recognize that we’re working with a lot of digital transformation and innovative companies in the tech industry and they are in a lot of ways advanced and driving change and innovation. Indeed, it is these social areas where they are falling a bit behind. What I recognized is that there are a lot of barriers involved, but if we’re talking about the leadership teams, in particular, what we recognize is that they are used to PR, communications, marketing, doing all of this for them, doing social selling, or, at least, having a social presence for them.


Change starts from leadership and senior executives being the example so that the message is transferred to the rest of the organization. Digital selling & marketing transformation comes with challenges and changes. It requires a change in the mindset but also in the behavioral aspect.
